Stefano Giovannoni (Italy)
Born in La Spezia, he lives and works in Milan. He graduated at the University of architecture in Florence at the age of 23 and, in the same faculty, he taught and conducted research until 1991.In 1984 and 1985 he collaborated with Ettore Sottsass and with Alchimia-Mendini. He taught at Domus Academy in Milan, at the Università del Progetto in Reggio Emilia Design, at the University of Architecture in Florence and in Genova. He works as industrial designer, designing many bestsellers and commercially successful products that awarded him as “Champion of Super and Popular of the years 2000” (Alberto Alessi), “King Mida of design” (Cristina Morozzi), “Most bankable designer” (Eugenio Perazza, Magis). Michel Millot (France)
After studying industrial design in the famous Ulm school, the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Germany, Michel Millot was responsible for the design department of Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. He taught at the University of Montreal in Canada while doing research in the design concept. He was design consultant in one of the largest French distribution company where he developed a products usage testing methods, for product selection, information and design. He has participated in design of more than 1800 products in the most varied fields, getting 30 design awards, as well as in the training of over 900 product designers in Europe, Canada, Korea and China. He was a professor at ENSAD, Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris where he has established the curriculum of the industrial design department, and later was appointed as director of the department. He is president of the ISUC, Institute of Use and Design Sciences, and industrial designer for the European and Asian industry (Korea, Malaysia, Japan and China over the past fifteen years) He has made lectures on the analysis of usage and design methodology in the Central Academy of Arts and Design in Beijing and Na-rai-Design School of Seoul. He works regularly since 1995 for more than 60 Chinese companies in the most diverse sectors.
Paul Anthony Cohen (Australia) Design Director, CEO
Paul’s career started in 1985 from Australian based Adelaide University in Industrial Design, immediately following graduation he joined a leading product design consultancy in Sydney, since then he has been consulting all of his professional life, winning many design awards from 1999 to 2009, including the prestigious Overall Winner of the Australian Design Awards, Good design award USA, and Red Dot Germany. Paul has designed and influenced many of the products you use in your home including the Breville IKON home appliance range. Vodafone mobile phone, Energiser 3-in1 flashlight, Johnson & Johnson tooth flosser and many more consumer goods. Paul started Cube Design China and Cube Sydney now a global business with an international client base. In 2003 Paul created a unique design for Bang and Olufsen in Paris, where his simple and elegant styled fire-place has been showcased in many magazines and front covers including Vogue, Belle, Houses, and Wallpaper magazine. Working with Breville in Australia from 2004 Paul created a range of electric home appliances that sold to Phillips in Europe, Bork In Russia, Williams Sonoma in USA and 22 other countries… all of which are made in China, The most successful of the range is the Ikon kettle and is now the largest selling kettle in the world. Selling over one million units per year.
